Christmas 2008..WOW!

We finally made it out through the snow to visit Santa a few days before Christmas! Quincy was a little scared at first but then he just went for it and got right up on Santa's lap!
Quincy's Christmas couldn't have gotten much better! He was so blessed with so many nice gifts from his family and friends. Among the many things he received this year....Santa brought him a table and chairs so he can sit in his room and color and play (okay...a Mom can dream, right?). He also got a train set which is loves and a keyboard (Thanks brother Kenny!) which he and his Dad love! He is also ready to get started on his basketball career because his brother Brandon and Mashelle gave him a basketball hoop...yeah! This was definately the year of "Elmo" ...Quincy got some Elmo gear, an Elmo puppet, books and DVD....he was thrilled
because he loves Elmo!

For Christmas Dinner we went to Brandon and Mashelle's house...it was so great to be with all of the boys and Mashelle's family for Christmas....and especially fun to spend time with Lilly although she slept through most of it! Quincy opened a few gifts for her but I already warned him that next year, she won't put up with that! And of course, Quincy made a new friend....this is him giving his new friend Lilly a hug before we had to leave. He is already getting a reputation as a lady killer!

Happy Holidays everyone and thanks again for all of the nice cards, gifts and sentiments! Love you all!

A SNOWY Birthday!

Let is snow! Wow, we are actually getting a lot of snow here in Portland. But, the show must go on so we have been celebrating Quincy's birthday no matter what!

Quincy's mom made him a Panda Bear cake (Yes, thats right...Amy made a homemade cake!) and we had a few friends and family over for cake and ice cream on Quincy's birthday. We had so much fun and he got so many nice presents. The next day Quincy's playgroup friends came over for some birthday fun too. We played with Quincy's new playdough set and then played Pin the Button on Frosty! Oh boy!

The next day we got our Christmas tree and now Christmas has officially arrived. We were waiting until after Quincy's birthday to really get into the holiday spirit.

One last picture....recently, we went to look at some nativity scenes from around the world and Quincy even got to dress up as a sheep and be a part of a nativity scene. Here he is as a sheep wishing the baby Jesus "peace"! Merry Christmas!!

Brithday Party!

Quincy's friend Deacon threw a musical birthday party this year and it was so fun. Deacon's teacher from his music glass led the group in fun songs and games. We had such a great time! She even brought a parachute that the kids got to play under. Next weekend is Malena's party....can't wait!

Also posted below are some new photos of Lilly! She is so cute and growing up so fast...Quincy gets to hold her now which is very exciting!

We are Thankful!

Thanksgiving 2008 was great. We are so thankful for all of our blessings, friends and family. We had the perfect size group over for dinner. Quincy's friend Deacon and his parents along with our friends Mike and Lisa and Quincy's grandma, Elnetta. The food was good and plentiful and we topped it off with a yummy dessert.

Quincy loved having his Grandma at his house! He didn't let her out of this sight....that was until Deacon got here anyway! Then they ran around the house and did some wrestling...oh boy! And of course, Quincy had to start the age old tradition of sticking olives on his fingers!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Election Night 2008

We are still flying high from Obama's win this week! What a blessing to see him win so soundly with no drama. Hallelujah!

We watched the results come in with friends and then rushed home to watch his speech with our neighbors and Quincy's godmother, Bethany.
Quincy ran around all night with this huge American flag balloon that is now in our living room. Doesn't look the air is going out of it anytime soon!
Here we are when it finally hit us that he won!

It was wonderful to share this historic night with people we love and who are equally as excited about what the future holds.

Halloween 2008

Wow, there are so many fun things to do for Halloween! The pumkin patch, pumpkin carving, making carmel apples, campaigning....yes, I did say campaigning because thats what we did for Halloween. Introducing the next President of the United States, Barack Obama!

Yes, thats right everyone, Quincy was Obama for Halloween and he became quite the celebrity! We had perfect strangers asking for photos of him! Here are a few more pics of him in his costume. We paid a visit to the campaign office too where we got to take a picture with the real Barack Obama.....

Before Halloween we did our pumpkin carving and carmel apple making. And on Halloween morning we took a craft class with Quincy's friend Ruby! Here are some more photos.

Friends!

Quincy has some great friends! He has known them since he was in his Mommy's belly, almost two years now. Took a few pictures of them at the park yesterday. Quincy and Ruby grabbed hands and took a stroll around the park while Deacon was off exploring. I think that Quincy and Ruby would go on a date if we let them!!
We were just missing Malena for the group shot.

You might notice Quincy's new haircut. Aunt Lana would be proud of the good job Quincy's mom did!! Here is the pile of hair....probably more hair than on his Mom's entire head! We cut his hair for his Halloween costume, but you'll have to wait until next week to see who he is going to be!!

Stay tuned.....

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

We couldn't have picked a better day to visit the Pumpkin Patch. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and in Portland, that is rare! We had a great time....there were three different mazes to run around in, a big pyramid of hay to climb up, a hayride, a barn with animals to pet and of course, pumpkin picking. We went with our friends Wendy and David and their daughter Hannah. Quincy and Hannah had a blast running around! Now, we just need to carve our pumpkin and get Quincy a costume and we'll be all ready for Halloween! (Remember, if you want to see the picture bigger, just click on them!)

Quincy Welcomes His Niece Lilly to the World!

Yep, Quincy is an Uncle! His brother Brandon and Mashelle has their little girl Lilly on October 1st. She was 9 lbs 3 ozs and 21.5 inches long. A little bigger than Quincy when he was born. So, pretty soon, she'll be able to hold her own with him! Here are some pictures of the proud dad and proud Grandpa! I just love the look Lilly is giving Quincy in last picture! And yes, for all of those wondering, this does make Amy a grandma at the ripe old age of 34!
